Karima Lalani, Assistant Teaching Professor and Program Director of the Health Informatics and Health Information Management programs has been appointed to the Social Determinants of Health Committee by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). This is a national committee which focuses on advancing the meaningful integration of social needs data and community health into the global health ecosystem to inform care delivery and improve individual and population quality of life.
“This is an immense opportunity to focus on meaningful integration of social needs data, as well as on digital health literacy to improve individual and population health,” said Dr. Lalani. “I am honored to have been selected to this Committee.”
