  3. Executive MHA program adopts updated schedule

The University of Washington’s Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program will update its class schedule beginning with the Autumn 2024 cohort.

Synchronous class sessions will be Friday and Saturday from 8am-5pm PST, once a month,  replacing the previous format of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Students retain the option to attend classes either virtually or in-person, and class sessions remain synchronous, whether attending in-person or online. Additionally, supplemental Tuesday evening webinars will remain during weeks without Friday and Saturday classes. This change will be implemented with the Fall 2024 EMHA cohort, which begins this September.

This schedule change was implemented to better accommodate our students, especially those who work full-time or those who are searching for new roles. When asked about the schedule change, the majority of current EMHA students expressed a preference for the change to Friday and Saturday class sessions.  The change was reviewed and approved by the Interdisciplinary Faculty Group in Health Management and Informatics Faculty Group (IHMI) after many conversations among faculty and staff concerning the integrity and impact of the change. With the majority, if not all, of our EMHA students working full-time, we believe this change will make balancing academics, professional lives, and personal lives more manageable for our students.
