Bio
Tyler is a clinical instructor and public health practitioner who has been teaching at the UW School of Public Health since 2020. He has taught over 1,700 students in the Public Health-Global Health and Food Systems, Nutrition, and Health undergraduate majors. His public health practice has recently been focused on substance use and behavioral health surveillance, with roles at the Washington State Health Care Authority and currently at the Liquor and Cannabis Board where he is part of the agency’s first research program. His broader research and practice background is in the areas of food systems and food insecurity, built environments and health, and college student health and wellbeing.
