Bio

Marc Provence is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health, where he has lectured on health insurance and public programs and has taught health policy in the COPHP program. He has mentored and advised MHA and MPH students.

Provence has served as Director of the Office of Medicaid Transformation at the Washington Health Care Authority; UW Administrator for the Fred Hutchinson/University of Washington Cancer Consortium; Director of Managed Care Systems for UW Physicians; Deputy Director of Washington’s Basic Health Plan; and Vice President for Health Services at HealthPlus (Blue Cross). He has been a member of the Washington Public Employee Benefits Board and the Governing Council of the Pacific Hospital Preservation and Development Authority.

He earned his MPH from the University of California.
