Bio

Debi has a degree in business management, in addition to a graduate degree in organizational management. She is an AHIMA Fellow, Past-President of the California Health Information Association, received the CHIA Distinguished Member award in June 2013 and the Industry Champion Award in June 2018. She was also presented with the AHIMA Innovation Award in 2023. Debi has served as chair and volunteered on many state and national committees in addition to publishing numerous health information articles in addition to speaking at conferences across the nation.

Debi Primeau is also Primeau Consulting Group’s Founder and CEO and has led the consulting practice since 2011 in providing regulatory compliance, information governance, health information transition management, and coding auditing and education services. Debi has previously held leadership positions in both acute and ambulatory care facilities and has worked with large consulting companies overseeing clients in Health Information, CDI, Audit and Education, and Privacy and Security. As a clinical faculty member at the University of Washington, Debi teaches information governance, health law, and ethics to graduate students.
