Bio
Shanise is a researcher and educator in the field of public health, with a focus on advancing health equity and justice. Her work spans critical areas such as child and adolescent mental health, global mental health, and digital health innovations. Shanise has a strong background in evaluating the social and economic determinants of health, aiming to address disparities through evidence-based policy and advocacy.
With a commitment to impactful research, Shanise collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across fields to develop and implement strategies that promote public health, particularly among underserved populations. Currently, she is working at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, where she is involved in designing and implementing digital health tools to screen and assess for suicidal ideation among adolescents and youth in outpatient pediatric settings.
