Bio
Stephen Gloyd serves as director of education and curriculum activities in the Department of Global Health. He is also Executive Director of Health Alliance International, a Seattle-based non-profit organization that provides support to Ministries of Health in Mozambique, East Timor, Ivory Coast, and Sudan. Dr. Gloyd teaches about the history and political economy of global health from a social justice perspective, research methods for developing countries, and management for global health. He has over 30 years experience working in Africa and Latin America, and his work has focused on improving primary health care through implementation science, with an emphasis on maternal-child health, malaria, tuberculosis, and STD/AIDS programs. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
