She continues this work as a member of the COIN’s DEI committee and as Associate Director of the Seattle Qualitative Core. More recently, her work with VA has includes serving as a multiple PI on a partnered quality improvement evaluation on supporting health professional trainees during electronic health record transitions, and is an investigator on projects focusing on VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization, Health Professions Trainees, and cardiology care receipt among Veterans.
Dr. Ahlness approaches research as a process done alongside colleagues and with participants as co-researchers. She enjoys mentoring graduate students in qualitative methods and reflexivity, and early professional development.
