Bio

Dr. Farquhar is Professor, Associate Dean, and Director of the Community-Oriented Public Health Practice (COPHP) MPH Program at the University of Washington School of Public Health, Department of Health Systems and Population Health. Her research draws upon the principles of community-based participatory research to advance social and environmental equity.

In partnership with community organizations and agencies, Dr. Farquhar served as co-investigator on a NIH project to reduce pesticides exposure and occupational stressors among indigenous farmworkers in Oregon, and as co-investigator on a NIEHS-funded intervention research project, Home Air in Agriculture – Pediatric Intervention (HAPI). She was PI of an RWJF project assessing the health-related effects of Yesler Terrace affordable housing redevelopment in Seattle, WA using data from Medicare claims, housing administration, local schools and hospitals.

She has served as President on the Board of Directors of Community-Campus Partnerships for Health, and as a commissioner on the city/county Sustainable Development Commission. She teaches PHI 513: Analytic Methods II.
