Bio
Diana Buist is an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health. Dr. Buist has nearly 30 years of experience in epidemiology and health services research, where she has used real-world evidence and advanced analytics to improve cancer detection and patient outcomes.
After 25 years in academia, Dr. Buist recently spent a few years at a biotech start-up focused on FDA and real world evidence studies on liquid biopsies for cancer screening, and is now working as a consultant for several companies to develop and evaluate AI in healthcare.
Dr. Buist is also an experienced mentor for both Master’s and Doctoral students and has taught physicians in developing countries for over 20 years to conduct rigorous epidemiologic studies to improve public health outcomes in their countries.
