Research Interests

Health equity; racial and ethnic health; urban and rural disparities; community-based participatory research; social and structural determinants of health; Latino and immigrant populations; chronic disease; cancer prevention and control

Bio

Barbara Baquero’s research focus on the design and implementation of effective community-based interventions to reduce health disparities and advance health equity among underserved populations, particularly Latinxs living in urban and rural communities in the US, with an emphasis on promoting active lifestyles and healthy diets. Her research intersects community-based participatory research (CBPR), behavior change intervention research and implementation science.
