Faculty

Faculty for the UW Health Services PhD program are involved locally, nationally, and internationally in health services research and policy. They are developing and testing interventions, as well as translating research into practice. Faculty contribute an important role in improving health and shaping health care systems and policy worldwide.

By participating in a myriad of organizations and associations outside of the UW, members of the faculty are able to provide relevant experience and opportunities to graduate students.

Prospective students do not need to secure a commitment from a faculty member before applying. Though, before applying, we strongly encourage you to review faculty profiles to identify those with shared research interests. You may reach out directly to faculty to discuss interests, research projects, and program fit. There will be a space on the application for you to list any faculty you have contacted and are interested in working with. It’s a good idea to list more than one faculty member if possible.

We match faculty mentors with incoming students based on the fit of research interests, student preferences, and faculty availability.
