Degree Requirements

All students admitted to the Health Systems and Population Health MS program are required to earn a minimum of 63 credits.

  • 63 credits (minimum)
    • 30 credits must be graduate-level, in-classroom courses
      • 18 credits must be in the UW Department of Health Systems and Population Health
    • 9 thesis credits

Degree Options

There are two concentration options in the program. The General MS degree focuses on research methods and is the more flexible option.

Students in the Clinical and Translational Research concentration must complete the courses required for Generalist students, as well as additional requirements specific to the CTR concentration.

  • Health Systems and Population Health MS – General Concentration (focus on research methods)
  • Health Systems and Population Health MS – Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) Concentration

Students electing to pursue the clinical and translational research concentration must complete the core courses, as well as additional concentration requirements.
